About
I work in collaboration with nature. I am most interested in the small details and micro environments found in observations of the natural world. I collect and photograph specimens that serve as inspiration when back in the studio. These also often end up incorporated directly into my work through a combination of hand fabrication, casting and electroforming.From my early days of metalsmithing, I have been fascinated by the myriad processes used to manipulate metal into shape. These days I have mostly settled into using processes of alloying for colors and working characteristics, depositing crystals through electroforming, casting molten metal, and using the chemistry of color in patinas and glass enamels.
